pa50 piston rings and gasket glue

hey everyone, i was taking apart the cylinder head and all, to clean because there was excessive smoke,

but when i got it all apart it was in fact filthy, i started cleaning the cylinder head, and all, but at a close look the piston rings looked bad, but im not sure if they are…

how do you know if you need to replace the piston rings??? and one more question…

do either the cylinder base gasket or head gasket need gasket glue???
