Bats don’t need their lights working to run. Different system.

What you’re telling us about the disconnected wires confirms what I said in my last post – the brake light wiring is grounding the ignition. make sure all the wires are jhooked up right and try again. If it’s like the M48 wiring, tail light (5W) wires should be grey and brake light (10W) wires should be green, or green and yellow if you’re lucky enough to have turn signals. The two circuits should be completely separate from each other.
