Have you rebuilt the Jikov carb? They are leaky and touchy! I had the same problem as you had, finally went to Steve’s Moped in NJ, got a NOS Jikov, and everything seemed OK, then the problem returned! I replaced: Thyristor module, coil, spark wire, and spark plug. Make sure the correct plug is in there, as one too cold will cause the problem. Also, make sure your tank is spotless, including the fuel filter (best to take the petcock out and clean the filter; it is attached to it. Also does it die when on the kickstand, or just when running on the road? Your brake shoes may be grabbing causing the drag down. Also, you could be overheating; check the drive belt and rear drive tension. That’s all I can offer, Jawas are fineky bikes, when they run, they are fun, but when issues pop up, ya wanna trash the bike (or eBay it!) lots of luck!
