i bought a 1077 colubia this weekend and brought it home. it ran ok but didnit want to climb a stanard california drive way, I decided to try to ajust the spark gap annd the only screw on the carb and it went down hill from there. now it doesnt want to run hardly at all.
it seems to run to rich. it bogs down and wont go by itself. it seems oxygen starved.i tried to adjust the float level and the fuel needle height but nothing changes this. no matter if the carb scew is out 1/2 turn or five turns it runs just as bad. funny though if i pull the start lever while running it slowly gains speed as long as i vary the starter lever and the throttle to work the two together. if i let of the start lever it slowly dies and cuts out progressively worse until it dies. this is curious thuogh , i assume that the start lever allows more oxygen into the cylinder and it begins to run.still not back to the original poor performance. can any one help? what should the spark plug be,and its gap.
how many turns out should the carb scew be? what should the fuel neeedle setting be i think the needle has four clip posistions on it,could wht could be wrong? help all you can i bought this for a camping trip in our rv with kids this summer to play in the national parks all help is greatly welcome
