Ended up just using steel wool and then rust treatment. Worked great. After reading about the aluminum foil and WD40 used on “not heavy” rust areas or pitted ones I decided to go steel wool. These parts of mine were in some really bad shape. Figured the foil and 40 wouldn’t do the trick. I’ll have to try it out on some other parts in the future though!
