How to tell if the motor is dead?

When I start up my puch 2 speed, it whirs, very very loudly. I hear it over the motor.

I have good new tranny fluid in it and a good oil mix, and its just very very loud.

If thats the case, anyone wanna trade a 2 speed that needs work for a good 1 speed bottom end? I’m in the SFbay area.
