Thanks all,
If you listen to this tri-zinger (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PT_R10Dfg7E), this is the exact same noise my engine started making. There were no leaks at the cylinder gasket, head gasket, or exhaust, and the flywheel/magneto all look to be in good shape.
