Folow manufacturer’s recommendations for oil. Dirty exhaust system is the number one cause of power loss according to a handbook. Cleaning the exhaust is easy .. you can figure it out by examination of screws, etc. Seafoam is good stuff. A wire brush is a good tool. If you ever get into undoing the head for cleaning the piston torque back down to specs. You can clean the piston head with fine sandpaper – emery cloth – the carbon will come off easy and you can blow it away .. but if you use Seafoam on the head you might get runny stuff on your cylinder wall and piston rings. I would switch to synthetic oil which is advertised as less/no ash less/no smoke which means less/no deposits on the piston and in the exhaust. Your exhaust port might get carboned up, and you can clean it by carefully chipping away, but be careful not to get grit into your motor.
