LOL! I forgot about that! I am guilty of doing this once long ago. It was not that the bolts were not available it was that the splines on the shafts would wear out and no matter what bolt you put on there it would not hold. Welding was better than ripping the whole engine apart to replace the shafts! So yea make sure the splines on the kick start and shifter are good and clean.
