going back a few steps, first I removed the stator plate cover (the thing with the fins). I noticed that with this removed, the whole assembly spins more freely. It’s not perfect, but it sure is alot easier. I guess this means that the cover itself is causing some drag. It does have some damage to the fins, meaning (i guess) that the bike took a fall at some point.

The other thing I am suspecting and need some help on is the main bearing on the lower end. I never was able to remove it (or the seal) because I could not figure how to get it out. Does it come out from the roller side or from the weight side. FYI, on the weight side. It seems it must come out from the roller side because on the weight side the bearing seems like it’s seated against a flange. I was afraid of pulling on the rubber seal from the roller side though…it didn’t want to come out and I didn’t want to tear it because I don’t have another one. Do they sell replacement main seal and main bearings? If so, that may be what I need…this is very frustrating.
