Was the stud ever”out of the hole”, or did it break while you were threading the nut? Or, is it a”screw” like you said and it just snapped. A picture would be nice.

If whatever is still stuck in the hole and is frozen in there by rust and crud, soak the stud/screw with PBlaster or Kroil (the later being my favorite) let it sit overnight. Don’t rush the soaking part. Then use any of the techniques these guys suggested. OFten you will find that you have to resort to trying all of these techniques jsut to get one bolt out.

A good pair of ViceGrips come in handy for these kinds of projects
