Yo dude, I told you at the begining I wasn’t being a dick. I meant every word of that. If you aren’t cool with working on your moped, then buy a scooter. There is nothing absolutely NOTHING wrong with that. I have a scooter, fuck, I have a scooter motor tattooed on my arm. New honda scooters are about the most reliable two wheeled vehicles around.
Getting a hobbit to run just right takes a ton of finicky little tweeks and junk, once you get them there they are reliable as shit. Getting them there takes a lot of cleaning the carb, cleaning the gas tank, cleaning everything. Setting and resetting the timing, and taking off and putting back on the exhaust…cleaning it out a little bit more each time.
From your original post, it seemed like you didn’t want to work on your bike b/c it reads like you are scared to work on it b/c then it will fall apart. The quotes below illustrate my point. I’m sure you can work on your bike, you just need to start doing it to gain some confidence. Metal doesn’t just fall apart after 30 years. EVERY part on that bike can be found either on ebay, or at your local honda dealer.
However, there is no telling what might fall apart on this guy.
I just don’t know, I’m affraid to pull the exhaust as the gasket might be crystalized, then I won’t have any exhaust. Same with pulling the carb carb and cleaning it, affraid it will just fall apart.
