definitely clean the hell out of the carb, but you must know that hobbit carbs are among the finickiest. not any harder to assemble or disassemble than any other carb, but sometimes you can clean and clean with no results. Id suggest buying a new carb gasket kit (or each of the gaskets individually from honda) and rebuild the carb.

I went thru hell getting my honda to run, and itd run but needed the choke on. then sometimes it didnt. then sometimes it did. i figured it was an air leak but couldnt pinpoint it. i didnt bother replacing the gaskets because they looked ok. i ended up selling it when i ran out of time at the end of the summer, and the guy who bought it replaced the gaskets and it was perfect. foolish me, but its allll a learning process i guess.

also there’s a good article in the wiki that someone awesome wrote about getting to your carb, if you havent figured it out already.
