<>All questions concern a ‘78 Vespa Bravo>
I’m sure there’s already other threads for this, but…....
-Difference between ON and Fuel ?
-Peaked out at 40 mph today (downhill, of course) at full throttle and as I left off the throttle it seemed as the bike wanted to shut off, then I pulled on the throttle again, and it died. I’m assuming I flooded it. It then would not start up, I checked the amount of fuel in the tank, not knowing what to do, I switched to reserve and was able to get it started and make it home.
-What is the proper way to use the starting lever on the left handlebar ? Is it essential ? When I hold it in and pedal to start then release it the bike backfires as if there’s too much compression. So (without said lever) I prefer to give a full rotation on the pedal/crank and it usually starts right up. As I’ve read that catching it in gear can be rough on things.
Thank you for taking the time to read this as I’m pretty frustrated looking for any info, am a new Army member, and a fairly novice moped enthusiast !
