It sounds a bit like what I’ve got going on right now. Mine will start up fine, but after running a while, it boggs when I slow down and then dies. However, I know my problem, so check this. See if your carb leaks gas. Turn the petcock on and just let it sit. If it starts to drip gas from the overflow tube after about 5 minutes, you’ve got a problem with the float needle. They have a rubber tip that seats tightly (or is supposed to) and mine is breaking apart. So, no seal means that gas is continually flowing into the carb, more quickly than the engine consumes it. So it floods.
