You get 30-35mph out of it?! Life is so unfair. This is just one more confirmation that mine is unhappy about something.
If the engine is an E50, all Puch E50 parts should fit it. An E50 is an E50 no matter which frame they mount it to. You MIGHT have to get creative mounting things that attach to the frame (like exhausts) but generally Puch parts should work just fine. Make sure other people agree with this statement before you drop a boatload of money on parts, but I’m pretty sure that’s how it works, anyhow.
To know whether it’s a two speed or a one speed, just look at the right side engine/transmission cover whatchamacallit. Is it kind of squarish? Does it have “PUCH” printed into it? If you can answer yes to both of these questions, you have a 2-speed Puch engine, or the ZA50. If it’s kind of roundish and it doesn’t say “PUCH” on it, you’ve got a 1-speed Puch engine, or the E50. If you look closely at it, you will probably also find the number (E50 or ZA50) on the case itself somewhere.
Have fun!
