moped head light

My headlight did not work when I got my moped. Here’s what I did knowing little about electrical wiring….. First, I took my headlight out to see if it worked. I used a square 6-volt battery to check it. And it lit up. Then, I checked what else worked on the moped. The horn worked. So I hooked the horn wires up to the headlight and “Let there be light” came to be. I then tightly duck taped the horn button so it would always be in the on position. Problem solved! I hope this helps someone else in my past predicament. In NY, the law is that the headlight needs to be on at all times. A moped is suppose to have a working horn, but since there is no inspection required, no one will be the wiser. ;-)
