i bought a 1980 honda express.
it turns over, i drained gas and oil, cleaned tank, added a fuel filter, and cleaned the spark plug.
now my problem:
i took out all the wireing for the lights, switch, turn signal(everything that makes it street legal.) so i have a basic moped. i have all the wires coming from the motor’s alternator. i am trying to get this thing to run without a battery, why would i need a battery if i can get the power from the altenator? (btw the battery is EXPLODED, checked for power with tester, it showed MINUTE power witch quicly faded.) i did a power test from the wires going FROM the alternator(black, white) and i get power when i go to kick start it. but i dont know how the ignition works, i get no spark, everything else seems to work just fine. i need some help!!!!! please.
is there a special kind of ignition for what i’m trying to do?
do i need a battery if i’m JUST trying to run it. (and i do get fuel to the carb, into the motor)
i just cant get it to spark!
