ok, thanks for the info.
i checked my pulley walls and the front one is new (i have new variator) and the rear looks to be in good shape, just a bit of rust where the belt contacts the pulley.
i went to a auto store and sprayed the belt with belt dressing and it helped a small amount but the main squeaking is still there.
i may try to sand the little bit of rust off of the rear pulley.
