Pedal Start Moped Idle

Hello,

I have 2 pedal start mopeds, a puch and a gaddabout. Both look to be around the same age.

neither of them idle. I have written in off in thinking that maybe pedal start mopeds don’t idle. is this true?

Also, they both bog down badly when going up hills. Any suggestions?
