Nice looking Ped. I just got one almost identical to that myself a few weeks ago. So for the decompressor cable, I think any bike cable should work, just run it from the handle to the decompressor valve which is just in front of the spark plug. Check the wiki for the service manual for some help. As far as the rear brake screeching – you may as well take it apart and check out the pads. Its not to hard to do – again see the service manual. And you know brakes are important so worth checking. The throttle and choke cables can be replaced with bike cables – get the type with the metal nubs on the ends – I got those, cut one end off, being careful not to fray it and then thread up from the carb end to the handle bars in the old sheath. I reccomend the wiki and its links, lots of help there.
With the stalling out thing – clean the carb really good, blow out all the grit afterwards (I need to redo this because now my jet got plugged again), and then fiddle with the idle screw – you may be idling too fast so that the clutch isnt disengaging – so when you hit the rear break your effectivly stoping the engine
Well thats where I would start.
Ok now I have a question for you, what is that silver tube mounted right below the tank? Mine didn’t have that, otherwise its identical, same color and everything.
