hello folks,
thank god for forums! i have a couple of questions. this week i picked up two moped, my first ones… i got a batavus 1980 hs50 that seems like she’ll be fine after i clean out the fuel system… and i got a motobecane moby i think it’s a 1979, anyway, there is no cable connected to the left handlebar decompresser and there is only a piece of broken cable coming out of the bottom of the carb, are there detailed pics anywhere of what this assemblage should look like? the exploded diagrams that i’ve found don’t really have the detail. can a replacement be easily make from standard bike cable?
the moby seems to run fine once she’s going but if she’s on the stand and i brake the rear wheel fast, she stalls out? normal? there also is a little bit of rear brake screeching, should i pull it all apart and check the pads or is there another option?
i’ll post some pics of the two soon as i can. looking forward to allot of fun on these! anyone else from R.I area?
thanks folks.
Jay
