QT50 four stroking? stock?

It seems my little 81 qt50 is four stroking once it gets up to about 15-20-23. I took off the air box and it didn’t seem to make a difference. It seems to four stroke then kind of peter out slowly. After it dies, one or two kicks is enough to get it going again for another couple minutes, however, on longer rides (ten-twenty minutes) it seems to do it more often towards the end of the trip, and it doesn’t seem to do it for about the first 5 minutes of a ride. I already cleaned out the carb, seeing as how thats usually my answer for everything. I should preface this with the fact that I bought it two days ago as a non-runner, cleaned it out, fresh gas, scraped the corrosion of the magneto, and finally got a new plug and it started right up. I’m confused, it idles just fine. I need some advice wise men.
