Yeah, that gasket is too tiny to cut. I’ve spent days trying. Even after smearing some oil on the top of the carb that the gasket matches, and pressing that to the gasket paper, creating an exact outline of what I need to cut. It’s just too tiny.
Anyway, yes, I mean an O-ring that would fit where your green line is. The “O” in O-ring refers to the profile. If you cut an O-ring, and look at the profile, it is a circle, like the letter O. If you cut a rubber band and look at the profile, it looks like a rectangle. Yes, O-rings are round, but the space in the carb it fits in is mostly round, and you only have to squish it a little to make it into an oval shape. If you get the right size, it sits in there quite nicely. The air does not leak around those screws, at least not enough to affect performance.
