David
I have a 1983 PA50II that had a lot of rust in the gas tank and was running when I got it also but died after I ran it for awhile. When I checked all that I could I pulled the gas filter at the bottom of the tank where the hose goes in and it was totally plugged with rust. I dump and filter a bunch of gas through the tank by filtering the gas each time before putting it back in the tank and got it running again. It does sound like you have a spark issue right now but also check that filter and look into the tank with a flashlight to see how much rust you mite have in there after draining it. Steve
