wow, you make it sound so easy. I do have to keep the hammer in my tool shed but I promise not to pick it up until the solex is all back together.

After I get the stator and bearing off and have a chance to survey the damage (hopefully there will be none) I will give your washer/pipe method a try, and I’m sure it will work.
