pa50 not starting

So I’ve been working on my moped for almost two weeks now and I still can’t get it to start. Here is what I have done so far…

-Filled the gas tank, turned gas and both switches on
-cleaned the points
-got a brand new spark plug
-cleaned the carb (at least 3 times now…)
-checked the timing…its dead on

I already know that I am not getting spark. I cut some of the wire back and got spark once, but then I was messing around with the little L shaped cap that goes onto the spark plug, and it kinda fell apart in my hands….so I ordered a new one. Got that today, cut a little more of the wire back to get fresh wire and put the new cap on and tried to get a spark…nothing.

I followed the spark plug wire back to the magnito that is near the rear wheel, but didn’t see how to get that off without replacing the entire magnito. My horn works when I tried to start it by riding it down my farily steep hill, but it doesn’t even come close to starting.

Anybody have any ideas or suggestions I would really appreciate it.
