Charley… you can’t use another condenser while the old one is still wired. You have to unsolder the connections going to the old one, and then solder them all back together without being attached to the condenser. Then tape them up. I use liquid electrical tape that you put on with a brush. You mount the external condenser under the tank somewhere… I use a selfdrilling metal screw… just don’t puncture the tank! snip the terminal off the end of the condenser wire, and use a blue midline tap to attach it to the wire going to the coil. Done deal!!
