Spraying a round in teflon, though illegal, really adds almost nothing to their penetrative capability. You are correct about hollow points; some of the smaller calibers (<32acp), when firing hollow points, can be stopped with thick winter clothing. Most experts recommend that you carry fmj’s in smaller pistols, because even though a fmj lacks the energy dump of a jhp, that energy is worthless if it’s all spent on a leather jacket and never actually injures your assailant.
