No VIN label

When I bought the bike it’s label was mostly missing. I wrote down the barely readable number just for my own records. But since then I have fully stripped and repainted the entire moped. Needless to say, the little shred of a label did not survive. I have the title but no way to match it to the vehicle in case of theft or some other legality related reason. I haven’t seen it stamped anywhere on the frame or am I just missing it? Its an ‘88 Tomos Golden bullet. Well, it used to be, now it’s all black. Anything I can do?
