you’re right those handle bars look awesome!
probably a comfy ride too. don’t stress the brass ring. I have never had one in a carb before. just cause that one guy said it was supposed to be there doesn’t mean it’s true. and I’ve seen a how too on removing that exact piece when they were telling how to derestrict a bike. I would up jet, and also try and clean out your exhaust. if it’s mucky enough that we couldn’t even take it apart then it’s probably clogged. you could also try and take a dremel to the intake of the exhaust to widen the opening if it looks like it’s smaller than the output from the engine. , but i would clean it and upjet first. you could also try moving the throttle pin up two notches since it didn;t work when it was on the second notch very well.
I went to the moped depot on talmadge, oh, or whatever that town near akron is called.
I talked to those guys for about two hours, they are really cool and helpful and insanely smart. I’m sure they would sell you some jets if you called. If you go down there they will probably end up telling you everything about your moped, i kinda had trouble getting out of there.
tell them I sent you and be nice and they should treat you right.
I’m glad the moped bug has bitten you so well.
good freakin luck!
