Parents are changin their minds about moped

about one and a half months ago i brought up the idea of me getting a moped to drive to work, school, and areound town. They discussed, read websites, and talked to people for 2 weeks, and then decided it was OK for me to get one. So i found the moped i am going to buy and now they start to tell me i cant ride it to school saying the roads are too busy, howver they are still ok with me riding it to work which is on a main raod, while my school is on backroads.

My argument is that i have been riding my bike on these roads for 6 years and never had a problem, and riding a moped is the same thing just without the leg work.

So i am still buying the ped (dont worry JV) i just am looking for some advice in what to tell them. Like make them understand that moped does not equal death.
