Very nice charcoal drawings! Charcoal is a very tricky medium to get the hang of, but you have mastered it pretty well! Nice composition, variety of tones, perfect use of highlights. Quality stuff right there!!
You can get nice pastels, but the Nupastels are firmer, hold an edge better, have excellent pigment saturation, and are the most bang for your buck.
Here’s a piece I did with Nupastels just effing around in my sketchbook one night. You can really get some oil-painting type layers with pastels.
