A PhD at my university (guess which) decided he wanted to give a student a gift. I posted an ad on craigslist and two days later he emailed me out of the blue.
He had owned it since 1984, and grown with it. He doesn’t have use for it anymore (lives too far from campus), had bad luck selling it before, and didn’t want to throw it away.
I can’t believe he was nice enough to let it go to a student for so cheap. :)
