Evaporust does contain a mild degreaser, though.
It will eventually get through any oil and grease and get to the rust, but it takes a lot longer.
That’s why I soaked my crankshaft for three days—I didn’t do one single thing to prep it, except maybe for wiping off the really big chunks with my hands.
After three days of soaking (rinsing it with water once a day or so), it was sparkly clean.
The stuff is great . . .
