Dan, calm down, do a search, and you will find that, indeedly-do, there was a branch application three years back that included yours truly. Because we’re from Toronto, many couldn’t make rallies, which I think are probably the single best opportunity for members to get to know you and decide whether you’re cool enough to make the cut.
We didn’t and the idea of an RCMP branch of the MA has dropped off the table since. So we ride together when we can and ride alone most of the time. I just like mopeds and could give a rat’s ass whether I’m supposed to swarm or destroy or pretend I’m mock-tough with my 50cc ‘army gang’ (whole lotta oxymorons goin’ on there).
The funny thing is that the most vehement, radical, shit-kicking, vomit-spewing, head-butting, pants-pissing members during the review process have all gone by the wayside, disappeared into the mindscape of America. That’s the funny thing about the MA site and the clubs: there’s a huge turnover; about every five years, 90% of the posters are new and so are the branch members. Now the members are scattered all over the country, even though the rule used to be that you had to live in the branch city. It’s become a tri-coastal club, East-West-South, whereas just a few years ago it was all Heartland and Northwest, baby. I mean, how often do Simon and Dan post? When was the last time, the site GUI and graphics were changed or upgraded?
So your job, Dan, should you accept this assignment, is to avoid trading in your ped for a baby stroller in the next five years. Up to it?
