I had a Seized up 505/1d Sachs.
So I soaked for a week with penetrating oil. Then decided to just take off the cylander, and see if it can be jiggled out. And it turns out it could. Here is what I found.

Anyways, Ive cleaned it up a lot since then, and Believe it or not, I think this thing is gona run fine without much work. All the bearings are running smooth. Cylander has no scratches, smooth as a babys butt. Piston rings are holding their form, and have good spring, and are sharp. I am amazed.
It looks like the case had water in it, but just a little bit on the bottom. Only one of the three lobes on the shaft is rusty like that. I think the water diddnt go up to the bearings, because its really just the tip of that shaft lobe which is rusty. Im gona try some Evapo-Rust in that case. Suposedly it wont hurt the seals or gasket. Anyone tried this?
