Considering a Michigan event

I’m looking for some input . . . wondering how many moped riders might turn out to ride / assist for an August 1-day event in West Michigan.
I’m the chairman for a 1-day biking fund-raiser for a local charity, and we’re looking for volunteers to ride the routes to assist the bikers. I got a moped recently, and I thought it would be a lot of fun to have moped riders as the route patrol. Last year, we thought we had some Harley folks to do it, but they left us in the lurch.
The event has 4 routes—14 miles, 26 miles, 62 miles, and 100 miles. We’re hoping to have over 100 bikers this year. The routes all start in Ludington, MI, which is on the Lake Michigan shoreline. The routes are all scenic, mostly on country roads. To be a volunteer, you’d need a cell phone, and you’d need to be able to carry a small emergency kit—tire patch tools, bandaids, etc. Besides the fun of riding, there’s rest stops with food every 10-20 miles, and a picnic at the end.
I’m thinking about a dozen people patrolling the routes would be a good number. If a lot more mopeds showed up, no problem, but they ought to kick in the $15 fee, same as the bikers. After all, the purpose is to raise money for the charity.
So let me know what you think.
