I own two 1982’s.

Leg shield are easy to get off eBay a little pricy but they are of good quality.

Never run with out battery as this will blow out your head light and tail light.

82-84 were all CDI or electronic ignition 12V .

Join the Yahoo group and you’ll get better deals from the eBay seller from Thailand. Shipping takes a few weeks but the parts are worth it.

As far as how you said it runs they are cold bitches and require running the choke for a good time during warm up but after that they run fine. all the little stuff you mentioned is no big deal.

Up grade I would do is change the carb and intake to a 21mm -24mm with a foam filter and a canister exhaust. As well as the gearing for more speed and top end. These simple changes have been known to propel the bike to the 55-60 mph area.

Get it I would love to have another Passport rider in Massachusetts to ride along with me.

Also I just bought a box full of parts off an 81 so E-Me if you need stupid little parts.
