there r 2 types of pedders, new tomos (or any new bike) riders and vintage riders.
just like there are 2 types of scoot riders new scoot riders and vintage guys.
We have to acknowledged the 2 sides as different or else the vintage bikes will eventually fall away to the masses of new tomos, kinetics, jiling, madass, etc. at rallys and the whole DIY style for us “vintage” guys will be lost.
It’s like when vintage motorbike rides turn into all bike rides when some newer harley guys come then some 80’s crotch rockets, and bam everyone and u have lost the whole idea of a vintage motorbike ride. I would hate to see this happen to rallys.
its happened to scooters, i like vintage mopeds and i have a newer tomos (i’m assembling from pieces lol). If you check out all the tomos posters vs all the vintage posters in performance and repair its clear they r different breeds, lets keep it that way.
Neither is “better” but a new tomos and a vintage motobecane are completely different machines IMO and the later requires a much higher appreciation and dedication to enjoy, the tomos is better for A to B transport, and can be celebrated for that.
