There is a larger black hose (about the size of a car’s radiator hose) that goes from the carb up to the frame. It attaches to the air filter that should be visible in front of the rider, kind of between the knees. That needs to stay. There is also a smaller hose that does have to do with emissions. It can go. It should run fine without it.
These are worth the money and gaining value as a collectible vintage bike.
DRATV will become your friend. Get the headlight with the removeable bulb. You’ll be glad you did when you blow one. Also, they changed from 6 volt to 12 volt somewhere around ‘81.
Top speed stock probably around 45 or so. Lotsa parts available on eBay (even legshields) and of course overseas.
There is also a good forum on yahoo for the c70 passports. Even has an online shop manual. Hope this helps. Good luck!
