as i have probably already stated before, it’s not just going to be a bunch of gears, brass “fluer de lis” and whatnot pasted to a modern frame and called steam-punk, i like to think i have a better sense of style than that, and no, i’m not going to dress up in a tophat and wool suit to ride around on it.
as for being better than burning man, how can i, since i’ve never been to it? i have no opinion on it either way, i hear it’s kewl and would love to go some year.
basically i have a frame to a general 5star, that’s what i’m using as the base, from there it’s alot of construction and figuring out stuff and fabrication, most of which is going to be done by looking at the older steam powerred bikes, and figuiring out what i can build myself, or get ahold of, if i could convert a minarelli over to a leather belt-drive without losing too much power, i would.
and those real wood fenders are the ones i mentioned, they look nice, and the tech used to make them would have been possible even back then.
