The sheer spectacle seems to strike most obsevers into bemusement. The odd driver that gets stuck behind a large formation can sometimes get impatient and is waved by at the earliest opportunity The smell and sound is almost overpowering in the middle of the group at the begining of the large group rides, as 200 bikes pack into formation and everyone starts their bikes. When you are rolling its not too bad, getting behind someone that is running a castor oil based fuel mix is kind of aromatically trippy.
The more upscale a hotel/motel is, the less noise you will have to deal with. That said, the Knights Inn has been a 3 Ring Circus in the past begrudgingly rolling with the flow with a few exceptions, I kind of like it there but I can sleep through almost anything.
