Storing bikes in the hotel you really may have to play by ear, it’s hard to say.

I was with an aeornautical club in school and when we went to a flying competition we had to make repairs in our hotel rooms. Someone in the hotel smelled “smoke” and while it wasn’t even us, we got blamed because we had soldering and heat guns.

If anything, maybe bring one spare and break it down into a neat, storable package you can stow in the Xterra while in Kzoo. It’s not like you’ll be using the truck while in town, you have mopeds! During the trip you can tie it down in the trailer.
