the shitfuck of a f250 has already been made, the new prius is taking tons of material to make, and will take way more resources when it needs to be recycled.

i’m a mechanical engineering student, my job is knowing what goes into that sort of thing, thats what people dont realize. the amount of resources that go into making a new car is way more than the amount of resoruces (be that air, water, gasoline) that it could ever try to burn/contaiminate in its lifetime. do you guys advocating this even know whats inside a catalyitc converter or is it just some buzz word that you heard ralph nader say would make all the squirrels and shit happy.

you guys are operating on ridiculous logic that just because something is pretty, smells nice, and has a nice digital readout that says you are getting good fuel economy, you are making the world better. tell that to the kid in china who has to drink polluted water because of all the batteries sitting in a landfill up stream of his house, i’m sure he is super glad you are driving around a car with more batteries, precious metals, chemicals, etc rather than an old truck that smells bad and is greasy. but what the hell do i know about designing vehicles, i’m sure you’d rather get your information from some pontificating liberal-arts douche.
