I think Tomos now puts a little catalytic converter in their stock exhaust pipe. Anyway, their new, stock mopeds must pass the EPA standard, or they couldn’t import them. Here’s what their web site says:

“TOMOS USA has received EPA Certification for 2007 and 2008. The A55 2 – stroke piston port engine has met or exceeded EPA regulations for 2007 and 2008. The A55 engine will be mounted on all TOMOS units.”

That probably applies to running 50:1. Maybe a greenie could clean up an older moped by putting one of those pipes on it.
