To be fair, plenty of people here ride scooters too. Thanks for the head up. I would never plan on buying a new scooter personally, but I know there are plenty of people who do.
It is a moped forum. Sometimes it’s ok to post scooter related topics. I’d guage this post as more on-point than many off topic scooter related posts.
Also, the GS Motorworks site claims to sell mopeds, not that I can find any.
The site also seems to have some blatant propaganda in it.
For instance if you go to the camparisons section, you get things like, “How does the GS scoot match up to a Vespa scoot?”
They show things like the transmission of the GS having “Automatic with CVT” as opposed to the vespa having “CVT transformer with torque slave”.
Think about a CVT, a variator. “Torque slave” can only mean the springs in the unit, which the GS bike MUST ALSO HAVE.
The brake part say the GS scoot has ABS front brakes. I’m not even going to start on that. But it also says the front vespa brakes are hydraulic disc with manual command and the rears are drum with manual command. I assume this must mean levers, brake levers, which the GS must have as well, unless they’ve worked out some way of knowing when to stop without offering manual control.
The GS scoot offers remote start. Great. That helps. Right. Starting the bike without being on it is awesome. Right.
The top speed given for the GS is 35-40. THe top speed given for the Vespa is a much more specific 39.
Why would they use such wording to confuse consumers unless their business was a shitpile?
