Not trying to stir up the bucket but: how is it that Cosmo’s warranty states that labor is the customer’s problem whereas Tomos covers the whole deal? Is it due to that Cosmo is more distro than a dealer support? Anyone can get a tomos and have any Tomos dealer remedy the problem. And there are Tomos dealers in the high hundreds if not thousands.Wouldn’t at least part of all them try to “buck the system”? Maybe some do but a company doesn’t get to be in business for 50 years by not factoring that in.And how about service bulletins? Tomos has already sent out A55 upgrade kits to fix the dying and stumbling problem. The kits are here, only just waiting for bikes to be ordered and bought and claims to be made. but as far as “damaged shipment”. sometimes you can’t even tell until the delivery guy’s long gone and the boxes opened and thrown away. At the shop on a few occasions we have seen perfectly intact boxes and broken mirrors, cut tires, split grips, and cut oil lines. On the other hand we’ve had totally trashed boxes and had the bikes come out without a scratch. but the lesson is Save the receipt, and get EVERYTHING in writing. Promises on the phone are good but for the fly-by-night places that’s about the only way they can get people through the door. Kinda makes me think of someone getting slipped a roofie in their drink…
